Who am I?My name is Doug McCann. I am the oldest in my family, having one younger brother. I have an amazing family who have blessed me with support every day. Family is the foundation of who I am and has helped build my values and beliefs. My father and I share our love for teaching together and he continues to show me new ways to better my teaching approaches all the time. |
Where am I from?I grew up in Gilbert, Arizona before moving to Sioux City, Iowa and then finishing my education in Bismarck, North Dakota. I believe that living in different places across the country has helped me become a better person by gaining various understandings of how different environments help shape people and their values.

Why teach?I found my love for teaching early in my life. I have always loved helping others, and when I saw how my father was changing lives while teaching I knew this was for me. Teaching is something I will cherish daily, not because it is easy, but because I get to help young people become better each and every day. |
I graduated in 2011 from Highland High School in Gilbert, AZ. After, I attended school at Chandler-Gilbert Community College for two years earning an Associates of Arts Degree. I later moved to North Dakota to attend the University of Mary to complete my Bachelors Degree in History Education with a Special Education Minor. I loved the campus and the atmosphere the school created. It taught me to work hard and challenge myself to be the very best I could possibly be.
